Katherine Jones’ printmaking practice encompasses a wide range of techniques that she combines to produce her distinctive images. The house-like structures that were predominant in earlier work still feature as a form of shelter that may be more fragile than first assumed. These recent watercolours and limited editions have been made in response to a year’s residency at the Rabley Drawing Centre, a 640 acre site complete with a working family farm, situated in a valley surrounded by the Marlborough Downs. Whilst still preoccupied with global concerns, these works are infused with a particular luminosity experienced by the artist during her time amongst the countryside and vast skies of Wiltshire.
Jones graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2003. She has exhibited widely both in the UK and internationally and been the recipient of numerous awards. She lives and works in South East London.
